Picking exactly which pages to remove

Instead of guessing page numbers or typing ranges, this tool shows every page as a thumbnail so you can see what’s actually on it. A blank page, a duplicate, a signature sheet you don’t need in the final copy - click it, and it gets a red mark showing it’s queued for deletion. Click it again if you change your mind.

This works well for the common cases: pulling a cover page out of a scanned contract, dropping a few duplicate pages a scanner produced by mistake, or trimming a long report down to just the sections that matter. There’s no limit to how many pages you can mark at once.

Why you can’t delete every page

A PDF needs at least one page to exist, so the tool won’t let you mark the last remaining page for removal. If you try, it shows a short reminder instead of letting the selection go through. If your goal is really to keep just one or two pages out of a much longer document, it’s often easier to flip the approach: use the PDF Split tool to extract the pages you want to keep, rather than marking everything else for deletion one by one.

What happens to the rest of the document

Clicking Remove Pages & Download PDF rebuilds the file using pdf-lib, copying every page you didn’t mark into a new document in its original order. Nothing about the surviving pages changes - no re-rendering, no quality loss, no altered layout. The download is named after your original file with _pages_removed added, so it’s easy to tell apart from the source.

When a PDF can’t have pages removed

Password-protected or encrypted PDFs can’t be read by the tool, since it never sends the file anywhere to check the password. If loading fails, an error message appears under the upload area. Remove the password using a PDF viewer first, then try again.

Corrupted files that fail to parse show the same error. Opening the file in a PDF viewer first can confirm whether it’s valid before you try editing it.

Privacy: no server involved
